OLC Launches Partnership with the Eat. Learn. Play. Bus

Share

The Oakland Literacy Coalition is thrilled to announce our partnership with Stephen & Ayesha Curry’s Eat. Learn. Play Bus to bring groceries, prepared meals, and beautiful books to kids and families across Oakland.

Together with community partners — including the Alameda County Community Food Bank, Community Kitchens, Oakland Public Library, and more — the bus will deliver 500,000 pounds of fresh produce, 100,000 books, and 50,000 meals over the next 12 months.

The bus as a mobile community resource fits perfectly into our mission of working together to ensure that every Oakland child learns and loves to read and our goal to make sure that all families have access to high quality, culturally relevant books — in the most fun and joyful way possible!

The OLC will be working to curate titles that reflect and celebrate the rich diversity of Oakland and invite kids to tap into the joy and power of reading. Going forward, you’ll find us out with the bus helping Oakland kids discover their next favorite book.
