Instructor I – Lion Creek Crossings Youth K – 5th Grade
EBALDC invests heavily in our 27 residential properties with people- and place-based strategies to ensure our residents live healthy, happy lives. At Lion Creek Crossings, our largest development based in East Oakland, we support families with a wide array of social and financial services, including the Lion’s Pride Program. This comprehensive K-5 after-school and summer program was developed in alignment with the Oakland Unified School District’s (OUSD) Havenscourt Campuses. We focus on youth literacy and academic achievement, with four areas of enrichment 1) STEAM education; 2) a counseling component that supports youth with socio-emotional issues; 3) violence prevention through the arts and community building; and 4) Roaring Forward, an initiative to help teens become college and career ready.
This Instructor I position will work with youth at two grade levels within K – 5th, and is an entry level position. It is based at Lion Creek Crossings in East Oakland.

Super Stars Literacy
AmeriCorps Group Leader
Group Leaders (GLs) are full-time AmeriCorps members who provide during and after school literacy intervention instruction. During the day, GLs work with classroom teachers to provide one-on-one and small group intervention support. After school, GLs run programming with a class of 16 students with support from their Program Manager.
Student Experience Program Manager
Reporting to the Program Director, the Student Experience Program Manager (SEPM) is responsible for ensuring that the BUILD program is an engaging and impactful experience for students. The SEPM will implement systems to ensure students can run successful businesses while satisfying BUILD’s operational policies and procedures. The SEPM will support planning and execution of school- and community-based events, that are a critical component of the BUILD curriculum. Additionally, the SEPM will work closely with the Partnerships Manager to leverage mentors and other volunteers as an effective part of the BUILD program. The SEPM will serve a portfolio of schools and form relationships with students, volunteers, and families to ensure excellence in program and outcomes.
