Summer Reading Resources - Oakland Literacy Coalition
There are so many fun ways to #KeepKidsReading and learning over the summer!
Reading Challenges & Activities:
Oakland Public Library Summer Reading Challenge
Kids who complete 20 days of reading during the summer can choose a free prize book and are eligible to win other prizes. The library also has a full calendar of amazing events and activities for kids and families all summer long!
Oakland A's Home Run Readers
Every summer, the A’s encourage families to read together and earn free A’s tickets as a reward! Join Stomper in hitting a reading “home run” this summer with Home Run Readers – Summer Edition. Families can track their reading progress by downloading the interactive worksheet that moves Stomper along the bases with each book they read. Students that hit a reading home run will receive two (2) free ticket vouchers to attend regular season A’s home game with their family.
OUSD Digital Library
Through OUSD’s Digital Library (Sora) every OUSD student has 24/7 access to thousands of amazing ebooks and audiobooks. Students can use their Clever login to browse the collection and check out books from any wifi connected device.
